Fencing – The construction crews have expanded the south construction site to include the areas in front of Farinon Center and Hogg Hall.  Farinon’s front entrance will remain accessible; however, Hogg’s front entrance is no longer accessible (unless there’s an emergency).  The construction crews also removed the panelized fencing along High Street to allow the campus community to use the new brick sidewalk.

Traffic:

  • High and Sullivan – Now that the fencing has been removed along High Street, traffic will flow normally.
  • Clinton Terrace – Starting the end of this week and carrying into next week, crews will construct the crosswalks in front of Farinon’s loading dock and at the intersection of McCartney and High Streets.  In order to allow deliveries to Farinon, the crosswalks will be completed in two phases.  Please ask delivery drivers to be patient since the installation will require large equipment in the area.
  • Reminder – Daily deliveries will be received, so traffic may be stopped occasionally to allow the delivery trucks to maneuver into the construction entrance on High Street.

Parking – Parking is now available along High Street.  Please avoid parking near the High Street construction entrance as large equipment and trucks will be entering and exiting daily.

Noise – The south construction site will remain noisy due to rock jack-hammering in preparation for the new storm water system.  Additional jack-hammering will be required to break the sidewalk into smaller pieces.

Other impacts – Information Technology Services will notify the campus about when RCN will replace the fiber optic line running into Watson Courts.
