Fencing – Two layout changes will be made Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Select fencing between Markle Hall and Skillman Library will be removed to direct pedestrian traffic into Skillman from the north, as the south pathway will be closed off to allow Phase 2 of construction to start. Also, select fencing between Hogg Hall and Pardee Hall will be removed as construction crews finish Phase 1.
Traffic – Due to construction at the intersection of High and Sullivan, two detour routes help drivers navigate from one end of campus to the other.
South Campus – As drivers approach Markle Hall from High Street, they are directed down Hamilton Street to Pierce Street and around Bushkill Drive and back to Sullivan to access the south end of the campus up to Skillman Library.
North Campus – Drivers coming up Sullivan Road to access High Street are detoured down South College Drive to McCartney Street, where they can make a left and get back to High Street to access buildings up to Markle Hall.
Parking – Several spaces along Sullivan Road on the east side of Hugel Science Center will be inaccessible for several weeks as the intersection of High and Sullivan is reconstructed, along with the parking spaces in front of Markle Hall. The Markle parking deck is still open.
Noise – The south construction site will remain noisy along with the small site at the intersection of High and Sullivan.
High and Sullivan Construction – Work is expected to wrap up next Friday. See the detour route
Clinton Terrace – The road will be closed from Thursday afternoon through Monday afternoon as the roadway is repaved. We ask that all delivery trucks be rescheduled since the loading dock will not be accessible.
