In the coming decade, Lafayette College’s goal is to create and maintain a successful campus reflecting the importance of interrelated systems—buildings, open spaces, parking and transit, ecology, and infrastructure—in harmonious balance.
Examples of areas of study include restoring and protecting natural areas as visual, recreational and educational resources; improving the aesthetic character of the core campus by diminishing the presence of vehicles; identifying sites for potential new construction; and reinforcing campus gateways and connections to adjacent neighborhoods. Included within the team of consultants are academic programmers, civil engineers, environmental engineers, and utility engineers.
